I'm gonna disappear now, as I watch this on repeat for the rest of the day. But before I gently vanish into the ether like a dead Jedi, a reminder: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson, the remarkably sharp director behind Brick, Looper, and The Brothers Bloom. The Last Jedi looks good, but the fact Johnson is behind it portends a whole other level of great.
And would you look at that: Johnson's 2006 breakthrough Brick—a noir set in a high school, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt—is playing at the Laurelhurst starting next Friday, April 21. That's a significantly shorter wait than having to kill time until December for The Last Jedi.
